so yesterday i had the day off and instead of laying around all lazy-like i headed down to s.f. to help some friends move a few things. i filled up the beast (dad's '94 dodge turbo diesel) and got on the road. i don't know how people own these things. 75 bucks to fill up and if you aren't hauling a load it is the bounciest ride ever. needless to say people get the hell out of your way when you need to get over. it's kind of fun.
so i get to the bridge after driving in no traffic. it was very nice. there was a car stalled in one of the toll booth lanes so i let a fella in who hadn't seen the car and was trapped. well i'll be damned if he didn't pay my toll!! i couldn't catch up to him to say thanks, which made me feel bad, but it was a nice start to heading into the city.
when i got there i parked the beast up on the sidewalk in front of their apt. as we got ready to load up. it didn't take very long. the cops went by and didn't even flinch that there was a huge truck parked up on the sidewalk. there was a homeless dude spanging on the corner and i thought, "hey, i need to give him the $4 i didn't have to pay for toll." so i did. i figured my toll had been paid for a reason, and that i had 4 bucks i hadn't intended to have, so why not give it to someone who needed it more than me? righteous.
we headed on down the road and got back an hour before they had to sign their lease so we went to lunch at kru. damn that place is good. i actually felt kinda bad for cheating on zen, but lou wasn't working so i didn't feel THAT bad. we then unloaded all of their stuff and headed to the o.t. so they could relax and have a beer. i headed home to waste the rest of my day on the couch.
good days come rarely, and i must say that monday was a good day.
