Birthday BBQ

Thanks to so much help from my lovely friends and family, the birthday BBQ went over like gang busters. My good friend Patrick was not only the grill master, but he was THIS excited when he saved a burger from falling through the grates of the grill. Plus, I had skimped and bought frozen burgers. But imagine our surprise when we opened them up and they were all shaped like the state of Texas. I totally forgot to take a picture of them. But look them up. They're called Bubba Burgers.

Here are my friends Michelle and Julie. The weather was absolutely perfect at a cool 78 degrees.

This is Patrick's girlfriend Carrie making a super awesome face, licking the cream out of the middle of a Japanese baked good. To the side of her is Ricky looking smug or bored. Or both.

Here are Bradley, Sean, Matt, and Marcella looking at a steampunk calendar Sean made. Hey, it's my birthday. More focus on me kay guys! I kid.

I had a money tree 'cause I'm ghetto. Folks tied dollars to it. I was going to take the dollars off and shove them down my pants later and pretend to be a stripper, but I had a lot of Jameson so I forgot to do that and ended the night playing Wii bowling instead. Not too shabby.

Josh and Crystal. I don't know why Crystal is so excited, but Josh sure isn't.

Another picture of Patrick telling a story very animated-like. He was my savior for manning the grill. I DO NOT cook outside.

I am really glad I got to have so many friends in one place to celebrate, since I usually don't get to do that. It was a great day and the clean up on Sunday was a pain in my rear, but totally worth it. Tonight I tackle the vacuuming and mopping since the yard clean up was all I could bring myself to do yesterday. Now to switch focus to planning for the New Orleans trip. I can't wait!

  4. Happy Big ol' birthday to ya!!! I LOVE Bubba Burgers! Being from Texas and all, anything in the shape of Texas ranks up there as way cool in my book.

Nothing better than backyard bbq's and good friends. October birthdays are awesome! (I don't have one...but lots of cool people I know do...)

    BDay hugs!

  5. They were hilarious. And people said they didn't taste too bad either for frozen. I had a hot dog.

Thanks for the birthday hugs. It was a lovely bbq.

    1. It was very fun. Thanks!

I think the money tree is good too. Cheaper than gifts, and you can do what you want with the cash.

  7. Happy birthday, lady! And thanks for sharing all those pics. I really do want to know what Ricky was so smug about. And I kinda want Josh's shoes...
