I was going to title this, "To all my blogger bitches" but then I thought I cuss enough in the body of my posts. I don't need to cuss all over the titles as well. So blogger ho's, blogger hoochies, blogger beezies, here's the deal: I am planning a get together for all of us some time early next fall. Like right after summer. In talking with the lovely Heather L it was decided that this get together will be in North Dakota. Maybe in Bismarck. Maybe in Fargo (as a nod to the Coen Brothers. I know nothing about Fargo. We are not going while it snows, that's all I give a shit about).
Feel free to email me any information about hotels, attractions, and whatnot you would be interested in seeing and doing. I think if we all share hotel rooms we can do this pretty cheaply.
I got the wild hair up my ass a while back when I thought about how strange it is that I am totally loving on women I have never met in real life. How we are all so very different, but we all totally have each other's backs and have this pretty great community. It makes me super happy. It also makes me think if you would've told me two years ago I would care so much about women I've only spoken to through blogging and emails, I would've laughed you off the face of the planet. But I get it now. I really get it.
So while it's a year away, I think it's time to start a roll call and start planning. I'll do a monthly update post. We'll coordinate stuff. I think it doesn't need to be much longer than a weekend so those of us who can't get much time off, don't need to. I say we keep it kid friendly, but wouldn't die if we kept it kid free. It's totally up to you guys. There is no who can and can't go. We all read each other's blogs. Anyone is welcome. I would kindly ask if you not get along with someone who may attend, you act like an adult and just grin and bear it. I'm more likely to just tell someone, "I don't like you, but we have all these mutual friends, so for now we're gonna get over it. Don't be catty or stupid." I'm a friendly ass bitch like that. :) I also have ZERO trouble regulating on anyone who chooses to get out of line, although I really can't imagine that happening. Just know if you come and cause trouble, you will regret it.
And yes, this is a girl trip. Maybe after our maiden voyage we can make it co-ed. We'll see. I just like the idea of all of us ladies getting together, sipping wine or coffee, talking nonsense. Getting to actually hug and look in to the eyes of all these women we've grown so close to, in this really amazing and strange way.
I am off of blogging at least tomorrow, and maybe half of the week. I have a girl date tonight and don't have to be back to work until Wednesday. I am going to relax and have a great time in the city with my friend, and then relax Tuesday and do nothing after having lunch with Matt in SF. Feel free to comment here, or to email me at my profile email, if you'd like to come and if you have any ideas on how to make the trip more fun for everyone. Also, if you want to come but think it's outside of your means, I will work my ASS off to get some folks to pitch in, or get you sponsored to come. I know none of us are rich, so we're going to try and do this on the cheap as much as possible. Love you all, and I look forward to making this happen if at all possible.
Happy picture of the day: this is a picture of Matt. In his hand is a tiny computer he brought over so we could play Tetris, Donkey Kong, Galaga, and other video games on my tv. Best geek date ever!!

while I understand completely, it is a shame about the ladies only thing. Bismark ND is only a 16 hour drive away. :)
ReplyDeleteDammit Ken, shave your legs and put on some lipstick! Oh yeah...the facial hair... ;)
DeleteI want to come. ND is pretty far from me, but I've got a year to save my change in the puggy bank. I haven't been to North Dakota since I was a kid - that would be most enjoyable and of course great to see all of my fellow bloggin' gals. I love the nod to the Coen Bros. I lurv them.
Ah, can't we let Ken come? I hear he does great pedicures :)
DeleteI believe consensus says Ken is in. Lipstick optional. :)
DeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I'm in Australia so I won't be able to come, but you'll all have a blast!
ReplyDeleteMake it a stop in a bigger trip to the States. You would be welcome to stay with me in Michigan, too, although it's not the most exciting state :)
DeleteI will start saving up now. I am beyond freaking excited!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start putting money away after the New Orleans trip. This is going to be awesome.
DeleteIn the semi-famous words of my dear friend, HBC...shut your pie hole, no way!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? This would be an absolute BLAST!! What fun! What frivolity! Plenty o'time to scrape up some coin, too!! I'm already devising a plan for if I need to take off a Friday or a Monday if school has already started...
ReplyDeleteWhoo hoo!!!
@Ken - take a road trip and drive down!
You must come! We have coffee to drink and world peace to figure out.
DeleteI am going to take a Friday and Monday off.
Sounds like it's going to be lots of fun! Take as many pictures as you can!
ReplyDeleteThere will be way too many pictures taken I'm sure.
DeleteDude! I'm all over this. So much fun... and let's not forget blog fodder. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking with all of us in one place I hope no one gets arrested. Haha
DeleteWe need to start a pool to determine which of us lands in the slammer...
DeleteI think I'll research ND lewdness laws.
Yes. You and I together in real life may break the state. I'll bring glue!
DeleteI'm in :)
ReplyDeleteYou better be, woman!! :)
DeleteAs soon as you said North Dakota, I thought of the movie Fargo =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys will have a big time!!
You should come. The more the merrier!
DeleteAw no fair! :(
ReplyDeleteWhy no fair? What did I miss.
DeleteYou are coming. I don't wanna hear no guff woman!
OMG...what a freaking awesome idea. My favorite line from Fargo: Is that your buddy in the wood chipper there? Snort...I will give this some thought. A lady blogging trip to Fargo is so weird, you know I love it! I will think on this. You rock!
ReplyDeleteWe would love to have you!!
DeleteIt is a toss up between Bismarck and Fargo. I'm leaning toward Fargo. Heather is leaning toward Bismarck. There may be a coin toss involved.
Not leaning, really, I think we ought to go to both. Bismark, as the capitol, is probably going to have a few more things than Fargo. Although I imagine that Fargo, because of the movie, will have a certain touristy appeal.
