Girl Trip!!!

So aside from a very small snag of us showing up to the house and it being so damned dirty we all almost threw up, it was a great weekend. After freaking out, then deciding to go out for drinks, everything turned out just fine. Marcella and I got up Saturday and I scrubbed the shit out of the kitchen, and she did the bathrooms. I don't know what the kid that was supposed to be taking care of the house was doing, but it wasn't house upkeep. Marcella emptied at least 20 pounds of stuff out of the litter boxes alone. But on to the fun part.

We found the world's greatest dive bar called The Yacht Club and had so much fun Friday night. I even spied a man smoking a clove, and bummed one. Totally reminded me of high school and going to see The Cure in concert. It was a good night. We all had fourth meal at Taco Bell then headed back to the house tipsy and giddy. When I woke up my tummy was super unhappy. Damn you fourth meal and Jameson!!

Here is Ally and Marcella enjoying coffee on the deck.

We all got dressed then headed to my favorite breakfast/lunch spot in Santa Cruz right on the water...Aldo's.

This was the view from our table.

Marcella and I got to be car models for the most awesome car in Santa Cruz.

After we got home and rested a while because I was still a bit queasy, I watered some suspicious looking plant life on the deck.

Saturday night we made a simple dinner in of carne asada and veggies, and sat around listening to Billy Joel and Cream on the record player, and Marcella and I did really ridiculous Creed imitations. The night ended like this, and it was good!

All in all a lovely and successful trip. We almost let a little filth get us down, but we were able to power through it and have a great time. Thanks to all my gal pals for being such sports about the questionable arrival. I was so happy to get to my favorite house for a weekend with friends.

  1. Erm, I might be a little OCD and bit of a clean freak..so I um always cart around my trusty Clorox and Lysol wipes so, when in doubt, I can whip it out! HA. Glad the dirt didn't ruin your weekend.

Seeing your pics of Santa Cruz and the amazing girl trip, gets me all nostalgic for Cali and my gal pals. So happy you had a great time!

Oh, that fourth meal at Taco Bell always has me making a run for the bathroom! But somehow, it never seems to stop me from eating it..

  2. I am a total clean freak. My house is never ever dirty. It only ruined the first hour after arrival.

You'll have to come out for a visit! :)

Yeah, I never late night eat. It's a bad idea. I did it twice last week.

  3. Sounds like you had a blast, despite a touch of grubbiness! What an awful hing to arrive to though, whoever was supposed to take care of the place ought to be spanked!

    1. The kid was smart to not show his face while we were there. I'd have gone off on him. The owners are a little cluttery and not the cleanest people, but this was FILTH.

  4. well it sounds like you had a great time except for some tummy troubles! my stomach is way too sensitive in my old age. it can act up any old time, but whaddya gonna do except try not to eat anything you KNOW will be problematic (like taco bell and/or jack in the box. lol).

    1. I always know when something is going to upset my stomach and I eat/drink it anyways. Not all that often, but I do.

  5. Sounds like a lot of fun. I loooove eating outdoors at restaurants, it's one of my favorite things to do. Unfortunately, in Michigan, our season for that is very, very short. Glad it was such a great time, even after the distraction of the mess!

    1. I do not usually prefer outdoor eating. It feels dirty to me. One of my many issues. I have been coming here so long and there is so little indoor seating, that I have gotten over it.

Hey, and at least that guy left you a nice healthy mint plant. ;)

    1. It almost made everyone just want to come home.

If that plant had been fully grown, we coulda left there with super minty breath. And are you REALLY the only one who mentioned the plant? I am in shock.

  7. I noticed the "suspicious looking plant life" as well. Is it possible your readers are all innocents? Good of you to water it.
